Northern side and front slopes

Suomu’s northern side draws experienced downhill skiers to black and red runs. The slopes’ good profile and quality offer an enjoyable challenge throughout the whole run. The fact that many of national alpine racing and freestyle teams are practising in Suomu Ski resort speaks something of our slopes.

The northern side challenges snowboarders and telemarkers by jumps, boxes, rails and hillocks. Those appreciating difficulty should try the black run of Syöksyrinne, where a number of world champions and Olympic Games winners have experienced peak moments in the beginning of their careers!

Eastern Suomu slopes

Front slopes and the eastern side of the ski centre where skiing is pleasant due to pine forest protecting from the wind are suitable for beginners and leisurely skiers. At the base of the slope near the lingonberry path you will find a cosy sheltered tepee for roasting sausages and having a rest after active skiing.

Suomu fell is located on the Arctic Circle, in the Kemijärvi region.

The distance between Suomu and the centre of the Kemijärvi town is 42 kilometres along the highway. In Kemijärvi you can make use of small town services, such as stores, pharmacy, health centre, swimming pool and Alko shop.

The nearest grocery store is in Joutsijärvi village about 17 kilometres from Suomu. Using the convenient home delivery service you can order what you have purchased directly to your apartment. There you will also find a gasoline station and an on-line lottery shop.
