Pöyliövaara sports ground
The Pöyliövaara sports ground is located around 1.5 km southwest of the town centre. The sports ground is equipped with modern pits and areas for a variety of sports. The field is covered with Saltex artificial grass, installed in 2013. The former artificial grass was a combination surface for both football and baseball. Areas for javelin and hammer throwing are located on the adjacent gravel-covered field.
In winter, the sports ground marks the beginning of 1-, 2-, 3- and 5-kilometre ski tracks and the lit Pöyliövaara-Pitkävaara track – 8 km long if you ski the entire journey and back.
Although the terrain is demanding, in the summer these Pöyliövaara-Pitkävaara tracks are suitable for walking and running.
